Die Saison 2014 geht mit einem Paukenschlag zu Ende.
Ludwigshafen erlebte einer der schlimmsten Momente. Leider auch die Heartliner.
Ein schwarzer Tag für die Heartliner.
Infolge einer Reparaturarbeit an einer Gasleitung der BASF kam es am 23 Oktober 2014 direkt an unserem Vereinsgelände zu einer folgenschweren Explosion. Ein Bauarbeiter verlor dabei sein Leben. Etwa 30 Personen erlitten Verletzungen, einige davon schwer.
Die umliegenden Häuser wurden unbewohnbar und die Menschen somit ohne Bleibe. Das Heartliner Vereinsheim hat die Explosion zwar überstanden, ist aber nach der ersten Einschätzung der Bauaufsicht nicht mehr nutzbar.
Was den Zustand der Instrumente, sowie des gesamten Inhaltes des Vereinsheims angeht, können wir noch nichts sagen. Auch unser LKW hatte auf den ersten Blick Glück. Bei näherer Betrachtung dürfte aber auch der ein Fall für den Schrottplatz sein.
Heilfroh sind wir, dass niemand von uns zu Schaden gekommen ist. Ein Mitglied der Heartliner verließ das Haus wenige Minuten vor der Katastrophe. Ein anderes Mitglied wurde eine Stunde vorher zum Glück aufgehalten und traf 10 Minuten nach dem Unglück ein.
Unser Mitgefühl gilt der Familie des getöteten Arbeiters und den Anwohnern, welche seit Jahren unsere Partys mit Gelassenheit ertragen. Auch bedanken wir uns für die vielen Zuschriften und aufmunternden Worte aus der Musikszene, welche uns heute erreicht haben.

The Season 2014 endet up with a bang. The City of Ludwigshafen became one of the worst moments. Unfortunately Heartliner as well.
A black day for Heartliner. As a result of construction works on a BASF gas pipe, a massive explosion with fatal consequences took place at Oct. 23th 2014 immediately next to our corps home. A construction worker lost his life and about 30 people were hurt, some of them severely.
All of the surrounding houses are now uninhabitable and the people are stranded without a home. The Heartliner corps home is still standing after the explosion but according to the preliminary assessment of the construction management, it will not be useable any more. At this point, we are unable to make any statements about the condition of the instruments or the interior of the corps home. Our truck seemed to have been lucky as well, but at a closer look, it will most likely have to end up at the scrap yard.
We are more than relieved that nobody of our own was hurt. One of our members had just left the building a few minutes before the explosion. Yet another one was being held back an hour before and arrived 10 minutes after the explosion.
Our sympathy goes out to the family of the dead worker and to the people living nearby, who have beared our rehearsals and parties all these years with composure. We also want to thank everyone from the music scene for their kind and encouraging words we received today. Die Heartliner
